| Invited Talk-IT: "Turboexpander based helium liquefier/ refrigerator development at BARC, India" |

Cryo-Technology Division, BARC is developing helium refrigeration/ liquefaction systems and cryogenic equipment for various applications of Department of Atomic Energy, India. An experimental helium refrigerator/liquefier, based on ultra high speed cryogenic turboexpanders, is designed and developed by CrTD, BARC. Such a turboexpander based plant is the first of its kind designed and developed in India. Various experimental trial runs are conducted. Liquefaction rate of 32 l/hr and refrigeration capacity of 195W @ 4.8K is achieved. The present talk will cover the various developmental aspects of cryogenic equipment/ systems. |
